Benefits of a Steady Prayer Life.

Hi readers, It's being a minute. I believe we are doing fine and holding on to God as we should.

I wanted to keep this post till next year, but I realize it will do us a lot of good if we learnt about prayers as we are preparing for the New Year.

So basically, I'll be discussing some benefits of a steady prayer life that God has granted me since I decided to take my prayer life serious (I was so lazy about praying that I sleep off few minutes into it , but now God is really helping me). Please if you know your melatonin level rises as soon as you lay on your bed, just stand up and don't tempt yourself to fall asleep mid-prayers . I believe this will prompt you to pray.  So you can as well read it on your feet. Don't read it on your bed please, you might fall asleep 😮

Of course He promised to answer us whenever we call upon Him and He has always fulfilled that in my(our) lives. In addition to that, and among all others, these are five benefits of a steady prayer life I wish to share with us today. Read, enjoy and pray afterwards

1. It develops our relationship with God:  Communication helps to spread knowledge and information among people. It is the foundation of all human relationship. At first, strangers start talking and getting to know each other, and then the relationships are formed when they have more interaction and communication. We get to express their ideas and feelings, and it, at the same time, helps us to understand emotion and thoughts of the others. We get comfortable with people we talk to and that's how we become friends with people. Prayer is a firm of communication we use to pass across everything burdening, confusing, exciting (as the case may be)  to God. We get to know God in so many dimensions like never before. God knows us already, He doesn't need us to introduce ourselves to Him. Nor does He need to discover new things about us that He doesn't know before!  Instead we are in the place of discovering Him gradually, as He reveals to us new things we can never discover from other sources. We begin to love and understand Him more and more. "I love those who love me and those who diligently seek me will find me" (Proverbs 8:17). This way, if we maintain a steady prayer life, our relationship with God gets stronger and stronger.

2. God- Expectant: Having experienced the 'not so good' part of life, you might start to expect same misfortune all the time. No. God doesn't want us thinking about the next evil, disappointment that'll come. He wants us to expect something good from Him. He wants you to believe something good is going to happen to you!
"But God ’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right—everything. Those who wait around (expect) for him are the lucky ones" (Isaiah 30:18).
Being prayerful actually kicked out the tendency to expect evil in me. I now expect good things and the best. And that's how He wants us to be. Knowing God is waiting to be gracious to me and before I open my mouth to pray,  He has answered already is the best thing ever!

3.Strength/power"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31)
When we pray, especially about really pressing issues that has been draining us in every sense, God grants us the strength and power to carry on till the answers start manifesting. After sweating it out in prayer, I feel this surge of energy like never before instead of getting tired and sloppy, (at this moment I feel like I can physically move the tallest building ). Your Spirit, soul and body gets strengthened so you don't get tired and give up while He is working on giving you the best blessings ever. He won't leave you powerless. In prayer you're strengthened!

4. Conrfidence in God : Ideally I can't be ignorant about what my friend's reaction /action towards a situation will be because I've seen her reactions times without number towards the same situation. Plus we communicate a lot, so I know her and what she's capable of doing.  Similarly I can't be ignorant of what God's actions will be towards a particular situation in my life because I communicate with Him(in prayer), I know what His promises are, and I have experienced firsthand His marvelous answers to my questions/prayers.
When we maintain a steady prayer life, and each time God answers you with His best ( because He will😊), you're confident that He'll will answer the other ones even if it doesn't look feasible to you. "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us. And if we know that He heareth us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him" (1 John 4:14,15).
Now I'm not saying I know God's ways, we know His ways are not ours! One thing I know for sure, without any iota  of doubt is that when He comes around, I'm having the best and that's enough for me!

5. Gratefulness: "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done" (Philippians 4:6 NLT)
You're undeniably grateful to God for everything he has done. Before you tender your new request to God, you give thanks for the previous answered prayers and in advance for the upcoming ones. A steady prayer life helps cultivate a grateful life. And sometimes instead asking, you get so overwhelmed by His blessings that the contents of your prayers will just be "Thank you God"
Has someone ever appreciated you so much for the favour you granted them that you decide to bless them with a bigger favour? Yh. I've realized that most of the time prayer of thanksgiving is all that's needed for God to surprise you with another jumbo blessing. And you're like.... "I can't remember praying for this".

After praying, we have hope that He heard us, that hope keeps us going, and our hearts are grateful for that.

Finally brethren, let's make prayer our way of life nd rejoice in the Lord always "Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying".
Romans 12:12 NLT

"I'll really love to hear from you guys how this has helped you. Or you have a contribution to this (I know there are more benefits to being prayerful than these five).  Feel free to comment, send emails on anything whatsoever pertaining to this topic".

Thanks for reading and bye.

STANDING FOR THE RIGHT.

Do the right things even if you're among the minority One time or the other in our lives we've made decisions basically because we have realized that we were previously wrong and had to make everything right. Now making it all right does not come without a price/ prices to pay for it. This is the part so many people don't want to talk or hear about and that is why most people just turn back from making that right decision they ought to. Here is a little story :         A young orphan, Mark struggled his way through to the university with the little jobs he did, he supported himself and was doing fine. All of  sudden he was dismissed from the job and couldn't fend for himself anymore. He had to l ive on what friends gave him. He had a clique of friends that were richer than him and it seems like he was their errand boy whenever he is around them. But he didn't really care about that, he was carried away with paying his school fees, feeding an...

Anxiety and you.

"Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.
