The Good Child of a Good Father.

Hi guys, It's been a while. I sincerely apologize for my absence. I hope to improve and be more consistent.
 I just want to share a quick experience and pick one or two lessons from it. Before then, read and keep this at the back of your mind;

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Psalms 111:10 KJV

 A number of us was fortunate to have the nicest and calmest Preceptor during one of my rotations some weeks ago. My doctor (lets call him Doctor A) was just so cool and fatherly, it seemed like everything we did was okay with him. He never voiced out any complain against us. We were like the perfect group. Yeah.... just as you are thinking, there were some of us that really did whatever they liked. They took his calmness for granted so much it became 'normal'. I  started to think of doing the same too. (You know, like just resuming really late without reasonable excuse). I was personally irritated by my thoughts and their acts. But I knew we could be better individuals and group too. So we had a pep talk, hoping that we would be able to help ourselves back to being really responsible and respectful doctors in training.

  Tell you what, just like magic, the pep talk worked. Everyone adjusted as quickly as possible. We became more effective both individually and as a group. Doctor A noticed this and verbally commended us, more than he used too. To the glory of God none of us ever went back to past behaviours, till we concluded our training.

I didn't really draw so much lessons from this incidents until weeks after, when God opened my eyes to them. So here:

 1. God is not only Father, He is Lord, King and Judge of our lives; Yes God is a very loving Father. He keeps and takes care of us, but He is also Lord, King and Judge of our lives. When it is time to obey God, that is the time we remember how merciful, caring (fatherly) God is. He'll forgive us anyway, we tell ourselves after deliberate disobedience. We forget the KING side of Him that gives orders and requires that they be obeyed per time. We fail to see Him as LORD and reverence Him appropriately. Let me just remind you that you can't 'do' anyhow in the presence of a Lord or King! Not even the earthly ones. Now this is God we are talking about. Think about it!
Orders, laws, commandments are given to be obeyed and if breached, the culprit would be judged. The FATHER and KING is also the JUDGE. Begin to see God has King and Judge, you would reverence Him better.

2. God is not waiting for us to fail:  "Dr A never voiced out any warning to us, or told us anything he didn't like about any of us, so we could turn around for good. He was probably waiting for the day he would evaluate us (I guess), to give us well deserved bad evaluations". See God does not hide any of His Dont's from us. Unlike Dr A,  He is not trying to lay ambush for us to fail at the end. As a good good Father that He is, He has been pleading with you to be a good good child too. Deep in our hearts, we have imprints of how He want us to live. He whispers inside our ears, in our dreams, the Bible and every medium possible, He gives us directions to live by. Making sure we are not ignorant of the right ways to live. Each time we sway away, He speaks to our hearts and bring us right back on track. He really want us to live successfully in Him.

3. True Wisdom and understanding comes out of respect for God: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Psalms 111:10 KJV

The fear (reverence, respect) of our Preceptor and everything he represented to us then was the beginning of our reasonable relationship with him. We learnt a lot from accomplishing the tasks he gave us. Our proper respect and obedience to him really helped us draw closer to him and gained more knowledge than expected. He would always create time for us to discuss really interesting cases from his well of knowledge that would be useful to us in future. We were getting that wisdom, knowledge and understanding that wouldn't have been possible with our old conducts.

I really do not want to go about this life displeasing my good good FATHER. I will live to please,reverence, fear and obey Him in all I do. And He will teach me His ways (wisdom and understanding). You just declared that into your life, and I know God will he'll you, Amen

4. Reverencing God precedes His blessings: Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord ; that walketh in his ways.
Psalms 128:1 KJV

Each time Dr A sees anyone of us after we were done with him, we always get a happy smile and big hug from him (a hug from my Consultant means a lot to me). He was and is still proud of us because we were respectful and obedient to him. The point is that if you would turn around and live the 'good good child' life God want you to live, He would look at you and be so proud of you, and shower you loads of blessing. A plus is that you would even be very bold to ask for your blessings because you've being good child all this while.  You've being doing your part!

5. Genuine life starts when you decide to reverence God in deed and in actions;
And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
Deuteronomy 6:24 KJV

Imagine if we continued irresponsibly till the end of that training, apart from the bad evaluation we would have earned ourselves, we wouldn't have enjoyed our training with him. Panic attacks and fear of being punished for our evil deeds would have 'finished' us. We wouldn't be 'living' as we should. It was for our own good that we turned around and behaved appropriately.
Obedience to God shields us from living a careless life, and from digging a whole pit of trouble for ourselves. It is God's way of preserving His own in abundant life. If you genuinely want to start living, you would reverence and obey the ONE that gives life abundantly.

After reading all these, I know the devil will tell you it's too hard to live to please God or that you can't do so for long. That's a lie. If you can purpose in your mind to do other things in life successfully, you can do this too.  And where/when you are weak, you will be divinely strengthened in Jesus name!

Let me also add that, just like you deliberately position yourself among like minded people in your career or any area of your live you want improved, It is also good that you keep such habit in this journey of being a good good child of God. You should relate with people that will help your goal of pleasing and reverencing God in all things.

Keep pleasing Good Good Father

Keep obeying Him

Keep referencing Him

Keep being the Good Good Child.

TRUST GOD AND CHILL!

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) Hi people, it's being a while I've heard the phrase 'Trust in God' like a one billion and one times now. And I've had opportunities to even encouraged a number of people with it.....'Trust in God' flying around like birds... But are we really chilling in the process of trusting in God?  By chilling i mean being rest assured that God is there for you and working it out and you don't have to fear. It is so easy to utter it out of our mouths but most of the times not supported by our actions.  I know already that when i've got that big challenge or trial before me i should trust God for perfect solution.... 'I'll trust in God' i say to myself.  But then do I really trust God as much as i declare?  Do I really allow Him have His way without wanting to interfere with what HE is doing in the process of trusting Him? Don't I jus...

OVERCOMING COMPARISON

 "P ay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.  For we are each responsible for our own conduct". Hi people, its been a while. Hope ya'll are faring well. I would like to talk about comparison here. There is a lot to say, but let's start from somewhere;      Most of the times, you don’t intentionally play the comparison game. It just happens. Before you know it, you’ve sized yourself up, measured someone else by your own standards, or concluded – after some close or most of the time not so close observation and the collection of a few facts – that you’re inferior or superior to someone else.        Comparison is such an ugly game, Jesus warned us not to get caught up in it. In Luke 18:9-14 Jesus told a parable to “some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else.” He told of...
