DAILY DEATHS.

We were all born into this sinful world and inherited sin. When we think about the cross, we are reminded that Jesus Christ came to sacrifice Himself for our sins. He took our sins and transgressions upon Himself and gave to us His righteousness. We were declared 'discharged and acquainted' by God through Jesus Christ. However, this is just the beginning of a lifetime journey. From the time we got saved, we would have to make choices either according to the flesh or the Spirit of God. We would have to renew our minds by the Spirit and Word every seconds that we breathe. If we don't, it would make it easier for the devil to keep us at the primary level of being saved and not live as God children and ambassadors here on earth.

When you got saved, it was an entry into the Kingdom of God, and living by continuous renewal of your mind by the word of God and a Spirit controlled life is what will sustain you here. You wont slip away. If we become so passive to remain as we are, it won't work here. How it is here is that you have to be transformed into the image of God. Therefore you have to kill or put of the old non compatible- to God's image-things, become renewed, to receive the new and to use what you receive for His glory.

 "I die daily" Paul exclaimed to the Corinthian church (1 Corinthians 15:31 KJV). In other words I cease to walk in my (self) daily. He recognized tendencies in him to engage in things that are unprofitable to his personal walk with God and mission in life and also corporately to the body of Christ. He was human like us, so obviously he struggled with himself as stated in the scriptures below;

15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.(Romans 7:15-20).

In this context, what does Death mean?  A state of permanent cessation. It is a state of being no longer alive, totally lifeless and therefore totally unmoved.

As Christians, we understand that God does not want us to remain in sin. It is necessary that by our willingness and the help of the spirit of God we kill that seed of sin in us. That's a form of dying. We essentially know what is out-rightly sinful, and so we don't commit them. If you however, go ahead to do things God has warned you about with the aim of coming back in crocodile tears to ask for forgiveness, know that you are slowing down your growth and really taking God's grace for granted. Stop it today in Jesus name. Pray to be above sin at all times!

After salvation the Daily Deaths journey starts. You have to choose everyday to kill every fiber in you that tends towards disagreeing with God. You know those things that are not out-rightly sin, but can lead to it. They are part of us, incorporated into our build either by internal (our minds) or external (environment) factors. How do you deal with that? How do you die to what you are already used to. How do cease working/walking in mindsets, characters and behaviors that doesn't line up with that of Christ. Simply put, how do you stop living for that thing? God will tell how. Surprised? Come along.

God is passionate about our building our character.  He wants to change us and build us up in all ramification till we begin to look like Him. He is not playing with you. He is so interested in you. Why will He make such great sacrifice at Calvary and then leave you to live this life just anyhow? He wants to continue, and then finish what He has already started in you.

One prayer I became so serious about when I realize how much God was (and is still) interested in building me up was that He should reveal myself to me and likewise reveal Himself to me, so that I can see where I don't look like Him at all or partially look like Him. And we will start building me from there. And so we started. We? Yh you read right. We, because I have to make a choice to be present there, and be in agreement with Him. I have to totally trust that He will do the most brilliant job on me, so I let Him. Without directly mentioning them to you, I know you are starting to see those things you need to die to, and you want to immediately agree together with God to work on your life in that regard. Don't fight it. Please agree and allow Him.

You will go and ask Him, and He will show you want you don't know. About yourself. About Himself. About the changes He will bring cause to happen in you. God will not keep you in the dark, He will let you know where you are, and where to start working from. Only if you would ask. Ask diligently. When He begins to reveal yourself to you, you'd be undone. Everything you think you have built by yourself, for yourself will be shattered. And He will start all over again or from wherever He deems fit. If you would stay and endure the daily process

Fully embrace God’s correction as part of your training,  for he is doing what any loving father does for his children. For who has ever heard of a child who never had to be corrected?  We all should welcome God’s discipline as the validation of authentic sonship. For if we have never once endured his correction it only proves we are strangers and not sons. And isn’t it true that we respect our earthly fathers even though they corrected and disciplined us? Then we should demonstrate an even greater respect for God, our spiritual Father, as we submit to his life-giving discipline. 10 Our parents corrected us for the short time of our childhood as it seemed good to them. But God corrects us throughout our lives for our own good, giving us an invitation to share his holiness. 11 Now all discipline seems to be more pain than pleasure at the time, yet later it will produce a transformation of character, bringing a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who yield to it.(Hebrews 12:7-11).

Why must this even happen to me? Great question.
  • It is a pointer to you that you are God's child. No parent in their right mind watches their child go haywire and never try to discipline them.
  • It is so that you are totally focused on God's agenda for your life. You've been rid of the excesses.
  • It is so that your life can carry God's glory. Your life can display dimensions of your father's glory, because you've death to self equals alive in and to His glory. When Christ was going to die on the cross, He attributed it to being glorified. And truly He was and still is. 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.(John 12:23)
  • It is so that you can live and give life 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.(John 12:24)
  •  Life, fruitfulness and Glory are in death!

How do I agree to this daily death process?
  1. Recognize everything working (living) in you that needs to die. To be honest, God would have to open your eyes to see these things. Ask Him.
  2. Look into the mirror of the word of God. The more you look, the more you see here. You would begin to see how God wants you to become through His written word
  3. Engage the Spirit of God in you. He will lead you into all truths about yourself. He will teach you the right and truthful things.
  4. Pray. You can't underestimate the power of prayer. Sow those seeds of prayers that will kill everything that must die for God to have His way in your life. Let nothing stop you!
  5. Fast. Some things don't go away until you fast.
  6. Receive every correction that comes with love. Know that He is doing it out of  His love you.
  7. Replace everything you are dying to with virtues God would want you to have, and look forward to exhibit them everyday. For example look forward to displaying calmness where the natural response is anger. It might require efforts at first, but the Holy Spirit will help you, and you will get used to it.
  8. If you flop once in a while, Don't beat yourself up. Go back to your Father like His child that you are. Let Him re- equip you to pass this test and move on to the next one.
  9. You will have to sincerely evaluate yourself. Of course with God. You are in this together
  10. Rejoice, that God is making you like Him. He is breathing life into you, and killing the things that threatens to make you lifeless!

As you ascend in life, remember, there is more. There is always something to die daily to. Something to give life to. You can't stop. You won't stop.  There is always something to work out or work into your life till you look like your Father.

STANDING FOR THE RIGHT.

Do the right things even if you're among the minority One time or the other in our lives we've made decisions basically because we have realized that we were previously wrong and had to make everything right. Now making it all right does not come without a price/ prices to pay for it. This is the part so many people don't want to talk or hear about and that is why most people just turn back from making that right decision they ought to. Here is a little story :         A young orphan, Mark struggled his way through to the university with the little jobs he did, he supported himself and was doing fine. All of  sudden he was dismissed from the job and couldn't fend for himself anymore. He had to l ive on what friends gave him. He had a clique of friends that were richer than him and it seems like he was their errand boy whenever he is around them. But he didn't really care about that, he was carried away with paying his school fees, feeding and getting a new job

NOT A STRAIGHT COURSE BUT BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose".  Romans 8:28 A straight course is not always the shortest distance between where we are and where we want to be.  It 'might' be another short distance to  confusion or probably destruction. Although we have our lives all planed out and we just work in line with it. But really it doesn't happen that way most of the time. There has to be some points God displaces our plans and replaces it with His. Trust me it doesn't seem like what we want at first but at the end all those interruptions from God into our lives work together for our good. Therefore having it at the back of our minds that 'our ways and thoughts are not His' will help us work more with God, trust Him and with high hopes pull through any challenging phase of our lives. Allowing God interrupt our straightway is also building humility in us. Humilit

BRAGGY BAG OF TALENTS.

This is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. Jeremiah 9:23 NLT Everyone has his/her own talents, abilities, empowerment in the right measure as deposited in them by God. And I know we even endeavor to learn more about others that attracts our interests. In fact we almost wants every empowerment God has to offer us. We even pray to God to add more talents to you or help you fully perfect the ones you have. Yeah that's good. It's okay that we desire all of these good things. But what are your aims. I mean after you get all these things what do you consciously or unconsciously (sometimes) do with them. A boastful person is perceived as restless, immodest, impatient, vainglorious, egotistical, proud to mention a few, but these piece will address some of it. So, here we go;       If we really dig deep into people's heart and find out why they want some things so much
